I am continually inspired by natural history,  impact, environment, loss, and the apocalypse; influences and themes that are constantly seeping into my current bodies of work. Having come of age during events like y2k, 9/11, the cultural infatuation with the Mayan calendar that predicted the end of time in 2012, and the threats posed by climate change, it is no wonder that concepts such as death, natural history and the apocalypse have become obsessions of mine.

These themes are always influencing my piece as well as my process, they have pushed me to use a lot of recycled or upcycled glass, as well as found objects and even carbon as a material. The use of found and recycled materials is an important step in my process that allows me to create work while reducing my own environmental impact. Recently I have been playing with light as a medium and metaphor for life through the use of plasma or neon filled glass.
